New premier series Kit (rims?)

The new premier series kit has been launched and i can safely say its one of THE nicest looking and sounding kits i have ever come across. i was sceptical at first due to the new lug design but its gorgeous. It comes in birch, maple or the gen-x )which is birch and maple) and u can mix and match different woods in ur kit and 29 different finishes including wraps, laquers, sparkles etc. are available and apparantly there are 5000 combinations of woods, colours, sizes etc.Go to www.premier-percussion.com for more info.

I am ordering my set on tuesday and i think im going for white......also the do not come fitted with die-cast rims however if u really want them then u can have them fitted as an extra. i have always thought (due to playing my friends pealr masters) that they were more solid and gave a better sound (esp. on the snare) What du u people think......die-cast or triple flange????

I am partial to die cast rims myself. I hope you enjoy your drum kit when it arrives. It sounds like it will be a nice one.

The amazing thing about the New premiers is... the expected extra time for a shell fitted with Glue rings.
I was quoted about 10-12weeks if i had them installed.

Why fitting such a small piece of wood to the inside of a shell would delay things THAT long stumps me!
Other than that gripe...their Chroming and paint finish is second to none.

funny you mention premier and die die cast.

my favorite hoops are the low profile die cast by premier. I've had regular die cast on most of my kits but will likely have the premiers put on my yamaha mc.

i also have the choice of maple or birch and i think im going for maple as i want as much resonance as possible. i also have te choice of 6ply maple or 4ply maple with support hoops.....i am tol that the 4ply wih the hoops has a bit more tonal quality and punch.........is his true? which is more resonant or nicer sounding or is there really that much difference?

Its all in the ear and thats the BEST way to decide.
Premier actually have factory tours, If you want to hear the difference then maybe you might want to give them a call/email about that before you make a decision.(?)

What someone else "THINKS" is better isn't going to help you as, its just a subjective opinion.

You'll know what you want when YOU... hear them.

i am an endorsee and have had the factory tour.....just needed someone who knew the difference.
